This year's Christmas time, statistically seen, has brought record sales for plentymarkets sellers. Until today, already 1.8 million orders have been processed in plentymarkets in December 2011. This is 42% more than during the same period last year.
Beside a general increase in sales, this increase can also be attributed to the ideal combination of different distribution channels provided along with the main distribution channel, the webshop. The multi-channel distribution, which we are pushing, obviously allows for more dynamic growth than can usually be achieved on the market.
As a consequence, we will, also in 2012, continue to add new options for multi-channel distribution and will provide access to further markets for our online sellers. Hereby, we are not only focusing on the German-speaking world, but also on further growing European markets. For also the international trade in the B2C area has significantly increased in 2011.
