"We want everyone to feel good in their skin". This is the vision that guides Uwe Schürmann (Naturdrogerie) and drives him toward his goals. The company offers an assortment of 100% natural perfumes, make-up and cosmetics. This is the story of how Naturdrogerie grew and the role that plentymarkets played in their success.

From Mainz through Europe

The heart of Naturdrogerie is a brick and mortar store in Mainz. This is where the team - composed of four employees and a poodle named Coco - greets customers and helps them find the right product. The company was founded in 2004 and initially sold a range of natural cosmetics and groceries. But soon they made the decision to focus solely on cosmetics. In 2010, Naturdrogerie ventured out into the world of online business. Since then, they have branched out even further and begun pursuing an omni-channel strategy. The company still sells products in its brick and mortar store, but now it's also active on marketplaces like Amazon, in its very own online store as well as mobile via an app. Now customers from all across Germany - and even across Europe - can try the products from Mainz.

Great customer service - even online

The company knows how to make the most of both sales channels. It prides itself on great customer service and consultation. "Our goal is to always have two more answers than there are customer questions," said Uwe Schürmann. Whether online or off, Naturdrogerie always strives to find the right products for its customers. It's a real challenge when selling such personal products like make-up or perfumes. But they do it by giving customers detailed item descriptions and providing free, personal consultation over the telephone or via e-mail. The company knows which questions to ask, for example, when determining a customer's skin type. They constantly work to improve their customer service and are planning to begin selling travel sizes in the future so that customers not only buy 100% natural products but are also 100% satisfied with their purchase. The advantage for sellers: the return rate stays as low as possible. "That's why we don't offer free returns - it's just something that doesn't happen very often," said Uwe Schürmann, who couldn't help but smile at the thought.

plentymarkets as a strong partner

When Naturdrogerie found plentymarkets, they found a system that makes their lives easier every day. "plentymarkets is a complete ERP solution at a fair price. Its range of functions meets - and often even exceeds - our expectations. We use plentymarkets tools all day long." They're particularly pleased with the POS function. Naturdrogerie was one of the first beta testers and it has been using the plentymarkets till ever since. Mobile point of sale systems are replacing old fashioned cash drawers and they are becoming quite popular in brick and mortar stores. One big advantage: cables don't get in the way and sellers have more room for hosting events.

Sharing tips and tricks with others

Not only does Uwe Schürmann use plentymarkets every day, but he's also spent lots of time learning about the system. He uses his technical know-how, for example, to make Naturdrogerie's online store load even faster and he's happy to share his knowledge with other sellers in the plentymarkets forum. It's only logical that Uwe decided to become a certified partner for our project board and help others put their own unique plans into action.

Putting emphasis on international sales

In the future, the company plans to focus more on the European market. Naturdrogerie has its eye on a few countries in particular. They already get customers who use Google Translate to browse through their online store and order items from abroad. The store will be available in other languages in the near future. When it comes to internationalisation, it's no surprise that the company puts its full trust in plentymarkets.
